Rokubungi Gendou, a man of mystery. He is Shinji's father. He is the commander of NERV. Hidden inside him is the motivation and the secret intention of all his acts. It seems that he dedicated his life for something and that something must've been big. He even left his own boy for that goal.

History :
In the university, Gendou met Ikari Yui (his future wife). He tried to get close to Yui because of her research on bio-technology and the powerful support organization behind her, some said. No one knows because Gendou seems to have a closed and cold personality. Later on, he was involved in the construction of the high-tech city of Tokyo-3 and found his way up to the high-level command of NERV. Gendou first introduced to Fuyutski Sensei by Ikari Yui in 1999. He later appoints his mentor, Fuyutski Kouzo as NERV Executive Officer and his personal assistant. Despite Gendou's position, Gendou carries his own agenda with every action he made.
